Consultation Fees

Daniel makes sure that our surgical fees align with the AMA recommended rate for Orthopaedic Surgeons. You will get a full quote prior to surgery, it is best to check with your Health Fund prior to get an estimate of your out of pocket costs.

Below is a summary to help you with this:

New Consultation - $250

Follow up Consultation - $135

If you have a valid GP referral, a Medicare rebate will cover a portion of this fee.

Surgical Fees

Dr Daniel Meyerkort charges fees aligned with the AMA recommended rate. Certain procedures will be discounted according to your health fund coverage.

Knee & Hip Replacement

  • 80% of the AMA recommended fee.

  • Pensioners / Health Care Card Holders - 65% of the AMA recommended fee. If your health fund has a known gap arrangement, this will reduce the gap payment for surgery to $500.

Sports Knee Surgery (ACL / Arthroscopy/ Meniscus surgery etc)

  • Most funds have a known gap arrangement, a gap payment of $500 will apply. If your fund does not have a known gap arrangement the fee will be 65% of the AMA recommended fee.

Ankle / Foot Surgery

  • 100% of the AMA recommended fee will apply to most procedures. Sports ankle surgery (ligament / arthroscopy etc) will be discounted to the Known Gap rate if your fund has this arrangement and limit the gap payment to $500, otherwise the AMA fee will apply

Other Costs

  • Excess payable directly to the Hospital depending on your level of coverage

  • Knee braces, moon boots etc

  • Physiotherapy / rehabilitation

  • Anaesthetic fees – The anaesthetist will quote prior to your procedure

  • Blood tests, x-rays, CT / MRI etc
